アメリカの電力業界のトレンドや懸案を業界紙に見る

Power Engineeringと言う無料の業界紙を購読している。アメリカ国内の電力事業者向け、と言った内容であり、また、Conventionalなポートフォリオを指示する内容で、多分に右寄りな情報誌だ。エネルギー業界とは右寄りなもの、と言うのはお決まりだけれど。

最近の記事で、How U.S. Power Generators Are Preparing for 2015というものがある。これは、メジャーな電力会社のマネジメントに、現在のトレンドや課題について尋ねたものだ。

質問の回答はそれぞれだけれども、この質問を並べてみれば、まさに現在のトレンドや課題として理解されていることがが見えてくる。ということで、以下に質問を列挙してみる。

ということで、再生エネルギー、原子力、環境規制、水、人材確保、あたりがキーワードとして見えてくる。なんとなく言われてはいたけれど、トピックに挙がっていてちょっと意外だったのは「水」だ。クウェートでは、当然ながら水の確保は深刻な問題で、電力よりも水の方が供給が逼迫している現状がある。ただ、これは地理的に特殊な条件にあることが理由であって、これが世界規模でも問題になっているとは言っても、アメリカの電力会社が気にしているトピックの一つにあがってくるほどとは思わなかった。
